Food Cert India P.Ltd is the first certification body in India Recognized by Quality
Council of India for Ayush Product Certification Scheme.
You can find our name under “Voluntary Certification Scheme for Ayush Products”
in the home page (www.qcin.org).
Dept. of Ayush, Ministry of Health , Govt. of India in collaboration with the Quality
Council of India launched Certification Scheme for Ayush Products for the first
time in India in Oct 2009, which would make available common Ayush Products in the
market with a quality seal . The criteria for Ayush Products for the first time
was launched by Ayush Department, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of
India in association with Quality council in Oct 2009.
The increasing usage of Herbal Medicines and growing demand in Global market for
such products has raised concerns on the quality and safety of Herbal materials
and finished herbal products for the respective National Health Authorities.
The scheme envisages two levels of certifications
1). Ayush Standard Mark for meeting the domestic regulatory requirements
2). Ayush Premium Mark for meeting international norms such as those set by W.H.O
or Regulations of European Commission,
USA and other countries. These quality marks are owned
by Dept of Ayush ,Govt of india and will be made available to the certified
units.
The scheme prescribed use of Certification Bodies Accredited to Corresponding International
Standards by NABCB, Quality Council of India. Under this scheme, each manufacturing
unit would obtain a Certification from the approved Certification Body. At present
Food Cert India is accredited by NABCB for the purpose. The details of the scheme
is available at www.qcin.org
