Organic Certification

Increased health consciousness and growing awareness of ill effects by contaminated farm produce, from the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is resulting in demand for Organic Products. Varied agro-climatic conditions in India coupled with vast bio-diversity, provide an ideal platform for adoption of Organic farming. The demand for organic products/farm produce is on the rise globally. Already India is exporting organic farm products to Europe, USA and Japan.


Organic farming yields more and used less land for the same output level. The study showed that organic farms yields 1.312 times more grain products than non organic farm.

With a view to have a focused development of organic farming and quality organic products, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt.of India, launched the National Programme on Organic Production (NPOP) which was formally notified during October, 2001, under the Foreign Trade and Development Act, 1992. The NPOP document incorporates, inter-alia, standards of Organic production, which have been formulated in harmony with international standards.

Given our relating scarcity of land, larger farmer population and fragmented land holdings, the benefits of organic farming appear uniquely suited to Indian conditions. The time is right to make a push into adopting organic farming in right earnest, given its many benefit to both the producer and the customer.

M/s.FoodCert India Pvt.Ltd has been accredited by National Accreditation Body, Govt.of India for National Programme on Organic Production (NPOP), represented by APEDA. This scheme has mutual recognition with USDA NOP, European Union and Switzerland organic standards.


The certification process covers both individual and group of operators.
